I bought these to store my homemade bread. However, my loaves are much smaller than the bag width wise. I must turn my loaves sidewise in the bag to keep them fresher. No big deal, but I wish they made smaller bags for 5x9 loaves.So nice to slip fresh sliced (or even unsliced) bread into a bag -- great for gifts and also easier to cover my bread versus other wraps. Keeps the bread fresh longer and just reach in and get a slice. Very nice. Would have liked a box or some storage way for these bags but right now, they are laying across my dining room table. I'd order them again and am using them frequently now! Too early to tell if these will do the job.The bags themselves are very good in construction and size. They have plenty of room for my bread machine's 2 pound loaves. The loaves are about 5" wide by 6" tall and fit easily. My only real complaint is with the bag ties. They do not have any substantial shape-holding capability when wrapped around the twisted end of the bags so I am just reusing old ties recycled from commercial bread bags.I love the design and the fact they hold up well in the freezer as I bake a lot of bread and freeze the loaves. It’s also a nice touch when I want to give a loaf of homemade bread away to friends.The ties are very thin and cheesy, bags are great though.The one thing I did not like were the twist ties. They were a little flimsy.
