I didn't want to be dumping oil into my septic system, as it could build up in the pipes and it will separate from the waste in the tank. Some people install grease catches in line - but I don't use that much oil. I like this better then an old coffee can or milk jug because it's not an eye sore - you can keep it on the counter instead of under the sink. The bags are durable and easy to replace. They can hold near boiling hot oil without problem.This and the replacement bags were cheaper then the Range Kleen at the time, and the bags can also stand up to 200*F vs 150*F on the Kleen. Reason why I choose this one. Luckily we're probably only going through 5 - 10 bags a year so it's not a horribly expensive solution.All in all it's a good product, the bags roll up at the top and have a wire tire to keep it closed. Between that and the lid it fits tight and keeps the smell of the oil inside. I can't smell the oil ever outside of it.
